A vintage botanical study of a single Canada goose, neck extended toward a sprig of waterweed. Fine ink hatching and soft watercolour washes in sage green, buff and sepia give it the look of an antique hand-coloured engraving. Shown whole with two wings, two legs and closed beak, it sits centred on a plain cream ground with a faint reed or two at the edge.
