A single great blue heron stands in shallow tidal water, wings folded, softly reflected in pale cyan. Loose watercolour washes of viridian and burnt sienna bleed into one another, with wet strokes carrying colour to every edge. Reeds and low mist soften the opposite corner, the bird set right of centre in luminous, quiet light.
