A solitary twisted juniper clings to a wind-scoured ridge, its gnarled trunk and reaching branches anchoring the left of the canvas. Beyond it a desert valley sinks into soft orange haze, brushed in loose oil strokes of warm ochre, burnt sienna and dusty rose. Low side light rakes across the rocks, catching every ridge and furrow with quiet, glowing warmth.
